Sew Hot Right Now

I've been inspired by Cindy and Lisagh and all the other craft-capable ladies in blogland, so I dusted off my sewing machine and have been unfolding and re-folding fabric and unrolling and re-rolling ribbon and looking around helplessly wondering, "where do I start?"

So I'm asking you: where do you go for pattern inspiration? I've looked on the world wide web, and there are some sites that seem pretty helpful, but where do you go for patterns, inspiration, ideas, etc.?

You could start with some clothing you already have. Maybe with a skirt or something that you love how it fits but it has gotten worn out. Take it apart and make a pattern then add your own flare. You'll be coming up with your own stuff in no time after you get used to working with the material.

One of my favorite sources for simple projects is the Purl Bee blog (http://www.purlbee.com/). There are a ton of knitting patterns but also some sewing projects too. I made the "Un-Paper Bag" and it came out great!

A great place to start is Today's Creative Blog http://todayscreativeblog.blogspot.com/

It's a blog that links to a new creative/craft blog every day. Tons of inspiration on all sorts of crafty things. I got totally lost in it one night!

Have fun :)

My god--I'm shaking in my Bonannos to be put in the same category with Lees when it comes to sewing!! Count me craft-impaired.

I've been wondering the same thing (now that I've mastered the pillow), so I'm glad you asked and can't wait to check out these site.

Post what you sew!
