Wild Oats is No Longer Dead to Me

Ok, Wild Oats, you win.

While the man behind the deli counter was glacially slow-moving, at least he asked me no questions other than, "red pepper or basil pesto?"

I opted for red pepper; it was the right choice.

Have I mentioned how much I'm loving being omnivorous once again?

Today's lunch followed a trip to the dog park, where Arnie and Sammy the Hound Dog played, "I BARK IN YOUR FACE! BARK AT YOU! BARK AT YOU! BARK AT YOU I DO!" and Red chased a ball in an attempt to feign normalcy. His facade cracked when a puppy waddled over to say hello, which so unnerved Red that he ran to a corner of the park and quietly licked his paws while maniacally staring at everyone like a sociopath.

I don't care, though, I love my little social misfit.

In fact, even as I delight in my red pepper-pestoed sandwich, the furry deviant is sitting on my feet to remind me that he's very, very, very hungry.

And Arnold is doing this.

Oh Devil Dog loves the I BARK AT YOU game! He's also fond of lounging about spread eagle just as Arnie is doing. I like to think it's a sign of a happy and comfortable (and exhausted) pup.

I stumbled across your blog. How are you? It sucked that we didnt get to say goodbye on that dark day. Sounds like you have a nice job.

I agree, Libby; It's trust and comfort and total contentedness. Very nice to see.

And Matt, yes, I agree. I wish we'd had a chance to all say good bye to each other. I'm glad you found my blog. I hope all's well with you and the crew.

Question for the Wasatch Report here: Any thoughts on the Goldminer's Daughter Lodge at Alta? We're itching for a UT ski trip either later this year or next, and a friend of ours really likes this place. Looks a little expensive, but it does include almost all your food (breakfast and dinner--with me making those sammies in the room). And ski in/ski out sounds so awesome. . . .

Glad you liked the ski house sammy. I made it this weekend again--maybe we were eating them at the same time, different mountain.

Cindy, let me look into this. My first thought is to consider the Alta Peruvian Inn as well, as I think it also has good deals and I know its food is supposed to be great (AND, I got married there, so I love it forever and ever).

I'll get some info for ya...stay tuned.
